Hello!
I’m Jonathan Sommer, a concert and portrait photographer based in Nashville, TN. Originally from Massachusetts, I came to Tennessee to study Music Business at Belmont University where I graduated in 2021. During my time in school I found my passion for photography and realized I could combine my love of taking photos with my love for music. There began my journey into concert photography.
Since then I have photographed hundreds of shows including the Foo Fighters, Jonas Brothers, Cage the Elephant, Jon Bellion and many more. I am a staff photographer for Melodic Magazine, All or Nothing Magazine and Do615. In addition to covering single shows, I had the pleasure of capturing Shaky Knees, Moon River and Pilgrimage Festivals in 2019 and was hired as a staff photographer for Nashville’s very own Live on the Green. I've finished three full length tours now, one with blues-rock duo, Larkin Poe, and two with country artist Justin Moore who I am now touring with full time since 2022.
Since graduating in April 2021, I have been continuing to build my business by reaching more clients and hopping on tours with bands across the country. I love helping artists and bands create content, and my goal is that I can turn my business into a career as a tour photographer doing what I love alongside artists doing what they love.
